Be A Leader Senior Boot Camp
The Be A Leader Senior Boot Camp was established in 2010 to provide high school seniors with a detailed, easy to navigate support system during the college and scholarship application process. This extensive system ensures that each of our seniors receives personal help with the often daunting process involved with applying for colleges and scholarships.
BALF's Senior Boot Camp begins the summer before our students' senior year and requires that each student work with BALF staff and their assigned mentor to meet critical senior year deadlines. Students and parents agree to sign a contract that includes:
Preparing for and taking the ACT and/or SAT
Applying to at least 4 colleges/universities
Completing and submitting at least 6 scholarship applications
Completing the FAFSA application if eligible
Attending monthly Senior Boot Camp Sessions
In addition, to agreeing to the above items, student's receive a Senior Year Action Plan designed to help them stay on track with mothly testing and application deadlines. Along with receiving individualized support from our Be A Leader College-Going Counselor, students are provide with a mentor who helps them stay on track, offer advise, proof read aplication essays, and helps them with the transition from high school into college.
